Kukicha Leaf Stem Gyokuro from Uejima Tea Farm

This tea is a blend of leaf stems that have been filtered during the refinement process of Uejima's Gyokuro teas.

This tea has been given the name Karigane, translating to the "sound of geese"

As with all gyokuro teas the leaves have been shaded for a number of weeks before being picked and processed. The stalks of the green tea are rich in nutrients and contain a great umami flavour. As the stalks receive even less light than the shaded leaves the plant stalks contain fewer catechins resulting in a sweeter brewed tea.

  • NOTE: This tea is suitable for both warm and cold brewing techniques.
  • Spring Harvest
  • Kyotonabe & Wazuka Villages
