- This chawan (tea bowl) was made approx 15 years ago.
The potter's kiln seal is stamped on the bottom of the bowl and the original wooden box with the potter's kiln seal and signature is also included.

About Kyoyaki (Kyo ware)
Kyo yaki originated in Kyoto in the 17th century. Kyo ware refers to a broad range of styles that were created in the Kyoto region and is also also known as Kyoto ware. In the 17th century, Kyō ware and had a close relationship with Chado, tea ceremony. The use of China instead of earthenware became more popular and bright designs became common.
