Description

Izumo Kuromatsu is a tree that grows mainly along the coastline of the Sanin region of Japan and is known as a very strong tree.

The black pine of Izumo appears in the mythology story, like "Kojiki" and "Nihon Shoki". Izumo is an important site to the Japanese.

On April 18 1971, the 22nd National Tree Planting Festival was held in Shimane Prefecture, where emperor Showa and Empress Kajun were welcomed to plant Izumo black pine trees.

At that time, about 10,000 people from both the prefecture and the prefecture gathered, and about 10,000 trees were planted to commemorate the commemoration by the participants of the ceremony event.
